The group exhibition Betekend(T) focuses (as the title suggests) on pure drawing. Artists who embrace the medium of drawing and seek experimentation from pure line.
We see a concatenation of pencil lines, abstract strokes, brutalist structures and soft strokes in clay. The art of drawing opened up and the sign as a symbolic support. This exhibition has a broad scope. Through drawing, we seek meaning. Every sign has a communicative value and a purpose. More than ever, signs are important, they divide and unite us-they provide connection or distance. The signs of our times raise questions daily, be it in the form of ChatGPT, religious icons or the daily icons that direct our traffic. We live in an unimaginable time where the meaning layer of signs is constantly changing and evolving. We are at a pivotal point; as with the invention of signs and writing, we are now seeing a reversal in the technological anchoring of the medium. As humanity, we are able to elevate the signs into a new form that transcends us, thus creating a reality almost separate from the physical world.
Open on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays from 2 PM to 6 PM
